消除（小焦反說文消盡也從水肖聲又肖字從小從肉經從金作銷鑠金也非經義）。

To extinguish and remove (消除: the upper character has the fanqie xiǎo + jiāo [xiāo]; Shuowen jiezi says: 'Xiāo means to exhaust; derived from 水 "water" with 肖 phonetic'; furthermore, the character 肖 derives from 小 and 肉; in the sūtra it is written with 金 as 銷, which means melting metal; that is not the sūtra's meaning).
