鉆銸 "Tweezers and pincers" (The first character is pronounced jian-yan [zhan]. The Shuowen jiezi says: "Iron tongs to clasp and take things." Formed from 金 "metal" with 占 as phonetic. In the scripture text it follows 甘 to make 鉗, which is an iron cangue on the neck and not what is used here. The second character is pronounced nian-zhe [zhe]. The Shuowen jiezi says: "銸 also means tongs; to nip/hold." Formed from 金 "metal" with 耴 as phonetic; 耴 has the same sound as above. In the scripture it follows three 耳 'ears' to make 鑷, which is an iron clamp under a carriage, not the original character. Both characters have been wrongly used).
