販鬻 (trading and selling: the upper character has the fanqie fa + wan. Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: "Buying in the morning and selling in the evening is called fan (販)." The Shuowen says: "To buy cheap and sell dear." It is formed with the "cowry" semantic classifier and the fan (反) phonetic component. The lower character has the fanqie yi + liu. Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli says: "Yu (鬻) means to sell." Gu Yewang says: "Selling goods." The Shuowen says it is formed with the ge (𩰲) semantic classifier, pronounced ge, and the yu (毓) phonetic component. The sūtra writes it with the "rice" radical, which is a popular abbreviated form).
