墋毒（上楚錦反案經意喻貪欲損害有情善業如大毒藥執者食者必當喪命故言墋毒墋猶甚也極毒惡也不可救也說文從土參聲參字從彡或從石作磣借用也並從參經文下從小作㕘俗字謬也）。

Extreme poison (墋毒: the upper [character has the fanqie] 楚錦反. According to the meaning of the sūtra, it is a metaphor for sensual desire harming the wholesome karma of sentient beings like a deadly poison; whoever grasps it or consumes it must inevitably lose their life; hence it is called 'extreme poison' (墋毒). 墋 is like 'extreme' (甚); extremely venomous and wicked, beyond cure. The Shuowen [says it is] composed of 土 with 參 phonetic. The character 參 is composed with 彡; or it is written with 石 as 磣, used as a loan character; both are composed with 參. In the sūtra text the lower part is written with 小 as 㕘, which is a mistaken popular form).
