不楝（姦眼反文字集略揀擇也從手東聲也說文作東分別簡之也從八從束八象八方經文作簡非本字也）。

Not choosing (不楝: fanqie jiān-yǎn. The Wenzi jilüe says: "Jiǎn (揀) means to choose and select; composed of the hand radical with dōng (東) phonetic." The Shuowen jiezi has it as dōng (東): "To distinguish and select; composed of bā (八) and shù (束); bā depicts the eight directions." In the sūtra text, writing it as 簡 is not the original character).
