掩襲（古文㦻褶一形同辭立反左傳凡師輕曰襲注云掩其不備也又云夜戰曰襲也）。

掩襲 [Surprise attack] (In ancient script written with the graphic variants 㦻 and 褶, identical in sound: cí plus lì fanqie. The Zuo zhuan states: "Whenever an army travels lightly, it is called xí [a raid]." The commentary states: "It means taking them by surprise when unprepared." It also says: "To fight by night is called xí").
