鎖械（上蘇果反字書云連[金*眾]也說文從金𧴲聲經作鎻俗字也下諧戒反廣雅云械桎也古今正字從木戒聲）。

鎖械 [Chains and instruments of restraint] (The upper character is sū plus guǒ fanqie. Character dictionaries state: "Interlinked rings." The Shuowen states: "It derives from 金 [metal] with 𧴲 as phonetic." The sūtra writes it as 鎻, which is a colloquial character. The lower character is xié plus jiè fanqie. The Guangya states: "Xiè means fetters." The Gujin zhengzi states: "It derives from 木 [wood] with 戒 as phonetic").
