匊物 (The upper [character] has the fanqie 弓 + 六. The Mao shi says: 'A handful is called 匊.' The Han shi says: 'Four fingers' breadth is called 匊.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Being in the hands is called 匊; an associative compound composed of 勹 and 米.' The sūtra writes 掬, whose meaning is the same; 勹 is pronounced 包).
