Xīngsāo [腥臊, fishy and rancid] (The first character has the fanqie xī + dīng; the second has the fanqie sǎo + dāo. The Shuowen jiezi states: 'The foul stench of pig fat.' Both characters are written with the flesh radical; xīng 星 and zào 喿 are both phonograms. 喿 has the fanqie sū + dào).
