作模（莫逋反鄭箋詩云模法也鄭注禮記云模所以琢文章之範也顧野王云䂓形也揜取象也或從手作摹說文亦法也從木莫聲）。

作模 (fanqie: 莫 + 逋 [mú]. Zheng's gloss on the Shijing says: 'Mú means a model.' Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: 'Mú is a mould used to cast decorative patterns.' Gu Yewang states: 'To delineate a form; to take an impression or likeness.' Sometimes written with the hand radical as 摹. The Shuowen jiezi also says: 'A model; it takes the tree radical [木] with 莫 as the phonetic component').
