鬱烝（於物反爾雅鬱氣也李巡曰鬱盛氣也下之媵之升二反說文烝火氣上行也南山雲烝礎柱潤謂熱烝上升也經文作蒸之升反爾雅蒸眾也美也蒸非此義也媵音以證反礎音楚柱下石也）。

鬱烝 (Pronounced with the fanqie 於物 [yù]. The Erya states: '鬱 means vapor.' Li Xun says: '鬱 means dense and abundant vapor.' The second character has two fanqie pronunciations: 之媵 [zhèng] and 之升 [zhēng]. The Shuowen jiezi states: '烝 means fiery vapor rising upward.' When 'clouds steam on the southern mountains, the base stone of pillars becomes moist,' this refers to heat and steam rising up. The sūtra text writes it as 蒸 with the fanqie 之升 [zhēng]. The Erya states: '蒸 means numerous; it means fine.' 蒸 does not have the intended sense here. 媵 is pronounced with the fanqie 以證 [yìng]. 礎 is pronounced 楚 [chǔ]; it means the stone beneath a pillar).
