擔揭 (the Shuowen writes 竭, identical; [read with the] fanqie 其謁 [q(í) + y(è)]; it means carrying on the back or lifting up. The Zuo zhuan says: 'lifting (竭) a stone to throw at people'; the commentary notes: 竭 means carrying on a shoulder-pole).
