煢悸（古文惸[仁-二+(竺-二+宋)]二形同巨營反孔註尚書云煢單也詩傳云煢煢然無所依也又云憂思貌也古今正字從卂熒省聲下渠季反謂心驚不定也亦心動也）。

Solitary and fearful (煢悸: the ancient script has the two variants 惸 and [仁-二+(竺-二+宋)], both pronounced with the fanqie 巨 + 營 [qióng]; Kong Anguo's commentary on the *Shangshu* says *qiong* (煢) means single; the commentary on the *Shijing* says: "*Qiong-qiong*, having none to rely upon"; it also says it is the appearance of sorrowful pining; the *Gujin zhengzi* says it has the semantic radical 卂 [swift] and phonetic 熒 [yíng] abbreviated; the second character is pronounced with the fanqie 渠 + 季 [jì], meaning the mind is startled and unsteady, or also that the heart trembles).
