嬉戲（上喜其反蒼頡篇嬉戲笑也說文樂也從女喜聲下希寄反考聲戲謔也詩傳云戲逸豫也爾雅云謔浪笑敖戲謔也字書云嬉也古今正字從戈䖒聲䖒音欣衣反）。

Sporting and playing (嬉戲: the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 喜 + 其 [xī]; the *Cang Jie pian* says *xi* (嬉) means to laugh and play; the *Shuowen jiezi* says it means pleasure, with the semantic radical 女 [woman] and phonetic 喜 [xǐ]; the second character is pronounced with the fanqie 希 + 寄 [xì]; the *Kaosheng* says *xi* (戲) means to banter; the commentary on the *Shijing* says *xi* means leisure and ease; the *Erya* says: "Bantering, sporting, laughing, and roaming is teasing and sporting"; character books say it means play (*xi* 嬉); the *Gujin zhengzi* says it has the semantic radical 戈 [halberd] and phonetic 䖒 [xī], with 䖒 pronounced with the fanqie 欣 + 衣 [xī]).
