Like mirage water (如陽燄水: [yàn] is yè + jiàn. The heat shimmer during hot times; seen from afar it resembles rippling water. A thirsty deer becomes confused and deluded, chasing after it, but ultimately finds no water. This is a metaphor for the mind of ordinary people, which fluctuates and wanders ceaselessly following false conceptualizations, ultimately gaining nothing).
