Treat relatives as relatives (親親: qiě + lín fanqie. The Liji says: 'Loving relatives progresses from three to five, and from five to nine.' The Cangjie pian says: '親 means to love; to be near.' The Shuowen says: '親 means to reach/arrive.' The Shiming says: '親 is chèn (𭣋); meaning intimately assisting one another').
