㹢玃（字體作𤠙或作猳同音加下居縛居碧二反說文大母猴也善顧眄玃持人也尒雅玃父善頋郭璞曰猳玃也似彌猴而大色蒼黑善𤣓持人好顧眄也古今注云猨五百歲化為玃也枹朴子云彌猴八百歲化為玃壽千歲是也）。

Jiajue 㹢玃 (the character form is 𤠙, or written as 猳, identical, pronounced jia 加. The second character has the two fanqie readings 居縛 [jū + fù/*kjak/jué] and 居碧 [jū + bì/*piek/bì]. The Shuowen says: 'A large female ape, skilled at looking around; jue 玃 seize and carry off humans.' The Erya says: 'The juefu 玃父 is skilled at looking around.' Guo Pu says: 'A jiajue 猳玃; it resembles a macaque but is larger, dark grey-black in color, skilled at seizing and carrying off humans, and fond of looking about.' The Gujin zhu says: 'After five hundred years, an ape transforms into a jue 玃.' The Baopuzi says: 'After eight hundred years, a macaque transforms into a jue 玃, having a lifespan of a thousand years,' which is this).
