駑馬（怒胡反廣雅駑駘也謂馬中鈍者也伯樂云大頭短喙一奴也脚不開屈玄目二奴也小口短又三奴又禮記凶年乘駑馬是也駘音徒改反）。

駑馬 [inferior horse] ([pronounced with the] fanqie 怒胡 [nú]; the Guangya says: '駑 means an inferior horse (駘)', that is, the dull ones among horses; Bo Le says: 'Large head and short snout is the first defect; legs unable to open and bend, and black eyes, is the second defect; small mouth and short [neck] is the third defect'; moreover, the Liji says: 'In years of famine one rides inferior horses'—this is it; 駘 is pronounced with the fanqie 徒改 [dài]).
