怨敵（亭歷反杜注左傳云敵猶當也又曰敵怨也方言同力者謂之敵說文從攴啇聲也啇音的）。

怨敵 (enemy / foe; pronounced with the fanqie 亭 and 歷 [=dí]. Du's commentary to the Zuo zhuan says: '敵 is like an opponent; it also means an enemy.' The Fangyan says: 'Those of equal strength are called 敵.' The Shuowen jiezi states that it takes 攴 as semantic component and 啇 as phonetic component. 啇 is pronounced 的 [=dí]).
