瘕疵（上夏加反毛詩箋云瘕病也郭注山海經虫病也蒼頡篇腹中病也說文病也下漬茲反孔注尚書疵亦病也周易疵猶瘕敗也說文從疒叚此皆聲也）。

Blemish and defect (瘕疵: the first character is fanqie 夏 + 加. The Mao Shi Jian says: "Jia [瘕] means illness." Guo Pu's commentary on the Shanhaijing says: "A parasitic illness." The Cangjie pian says: "An abdominal affliction." The Shuowen jiezi says: "An illness." The second character is fanqie 漬 + 茲. Kong Anguo's commentary on the Shangshu says: "Ci [疵] also means illness." The Zhouyi indicates ci is like jia, meaning ruin or defect. The Shuowen jiezi notes that both take the 'illness' radical [疒], with jia [叚] and ci [此] as phonetics).
