籌量 [calculating] (the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 逐 + 留 [chóu]. Gu Yewang states: '籌 is that which is used to calculate and tally.' Zheng Xuan's commentary on the *Yili* states: 'It means to calculate.' The *Shuowen* states: 'Classified under the radical 竹 with 壽 as its phonetic component').
