淤泥 [silt and mud] (the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 於 + 㨿 [yù]. Gu Yewang states: 'It is the dark mud in water.' The *Shuowen* states: '淤 means dregs and sediment; classified under the radical 水 with 於 as its phonetic component').
