吐涎（祥延反俗字也正作㳄說文云口中津也從水從欠雖正體為與次字濫故時不用束晢作唌誼作湵史籀大篆作𣵿此皆先輩諸儒各隨自意而作字也）。

吐涎 [spitting saliva] (x- + [y]an [-> xian]. A vulgar character; the orthodox form is 㳄. The Shuowen jiezi says: "Moisture in the mouth." Composed with 水 [water] and 欠. Although the orthodox form, because it was confused with the character 次, it was not used in contemporary times. Shu Xi wrote it as 唌; [Jia] Yi wrote it as 湵; the Great Seal script of Shi Zhou wrote it as 𣵿. These were all variations created by former scholars each following their own inclinations).
