該閱（上改哀反賈逵注國語云該備也方言云該咸也廣雅云該評也包也說文從言亥聲若兼備之該從日作晐下緣雪反考聲云閱數也察也蒐也簡功業也說文云閱具數於門中也從門兌聲）。

該閱 (The first character is *gai* + *ai* fanqie; Jia Kui's commentary to the *Guoyu* says: "該 means complete." The *Fangyan* says: "該 means all." The *Guangya* says: "該 means to evaluate; to encompass." The *Shuowen* says: "Derived from 言 with 亥 phonetic; if it is the 該 of being comprehensive, it is written with the sun radical as 晐." The second character is *yuan* + *xue* fanqie; the *Kaosheng* says: "閱 means to count; to inspect; to review; to select meritorious deeds." The *Shuowen* says: "閱 means to fully count within the gate; derived from 門 with 兌 phonetic").
