49.55

寔繁（時軄反下扶園反說文寔止也亦實也詩云寔命不同傳曰寔是也又云六月繁霜傅曰繁多也禮記孔子禮讓之節繁也鄭玄曰繁盛也）。

Truly abundant (寔繁: shi + zhi fan; the second is fu + yuan fan. The Shuowen says: "寔 means to stop; it also means real." The Shijing says: "寔 their lives are not the same." The commentary says: "寔 means this." It also says: "In the sixth month, 繁 heavy frost." The commentary says: "繁 means abundant." The Liji says: "Confucius's rules of propriety and deference were 繁." Zheng Xuan says: "繁 means flourishing").
