瞬息（式𨳝反說文云開闔目數搖也案瞬目者一斂目也息者不息氣也）。

瞬息 (fanqie: 式𨳝反 [shùn]. The Shuowen says: "Opening and closing the eyes in rapid flutters." According to analysis, a blink of an eye (瞬目) is a single closing of the eyes; a breath (息) is a breath of air).
