吠世師（梵語扶癈反亦云衛世師皆訛也此云勝異過餘論故名勝能破餘論壞故名異其論六句為宗或言六諦）。

Vaiśeṣika (Sanskrit; fanqie: 扶 [f-] + 癈 [-ei]; also written as Weishishi, both are corruptions. Here it translates as 'superior and distinct': because it surpasses other treatises, it is called 'superior'; because it can refute and destroy other treatises, it is called 'distinct'. Its treatise takes the six categories [padārtha] as its principal doctrine, also called the six truths).
