鑽燧（上祖官反顧野王云鑽猶鐫也鑿也說文穿也從金贊聲也下隨悴反杜注左傳云取火具也說文從火遂聲經從手作攢非也）。

Drilling for fire (鑽燧; the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 祖 + 官 [zuān]. Gu Yewang says: "'鑽' is like engraving; to chisel." The Shuowen says: "To bore through." It is formed with the metal semantic and 贊 as phonetic. The second character is pronounced with the fanqie 隨 + 悴 [suì]. Du [Yu's] commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: "An implement for obtaining fire." The Shuowen says: "It is formed with the fire semantic and 遂 as phonetic." In the treatise, it is written with the hand semantic as 攢, which is incorrect).
