Burn and destroy [焚滅] (fen: f[ú] + [y]ún fan; Kong's Commentary on the Book of Documents says: '"Fén" means to burn.' Du's Commentary on the Zuo Tradition says: '"Fén" also means to perish.' The Shuowen says: 'To burn fields; it takes "huǒ" (fire) and "lín" (forest)').
