橐籥 'Bellows and pipes' (The first character is fanqie 湯 + 洛; the second is fanqie 羊 + 灼. Laozi states: 'Between Heaven and Earth, is it not like a bellows and pipe? Empty yet unexhausted, moved and more comes forth.' The imperial commentary states: 'The 橐 is a leather pouch; the 籥 is a Qiang flute. The bellows stirs the wind, and the flute directs the blowing.' Gu Yewang states: 'Bellows and pipes are what smelters use to blow air onto fire to make it blaze fiercely.' The Cangjiepian states: 'A bottomless sack is called a 橐.' The Mao Commentary on the Shijing states: '橐橐 describes the sound of exerting strength.' In ancient script it is written with 口 as 𡇈. The Shuowen jiezi states: 'A sack; derived from 石 with 橐 abbreviated.' 㯻 is fanqie 胡 + 本; 口 is pronounced 韋; [革*匍] is pronounced 敗; 冶 is pronounced 野).
