犢子部（梵言跋私弗多羅此云可住子部舊云犢子者猶不了梵音長短故也長音呼跋私則是可住若短音呼則言犢從上座部中一切有部出也）。

犢子部 (In Sanskrit Vātsīputrīya, here translated as Kezhuzi bu, the School of the One Who Can Abide. The former translation 'Calf's Son' [Vātsī-] was because they did not yet understand the distinction between long and short Sanskrit vowels: if pronounced with a long vowel, vātsī means 'able to abide'; if pronounced with a short vowel, it means 'calf'; it arose from the Sarvāstivāda within the Sthavira nikāya).
