從削 (also written in the two forms 鞘 and 韒, the same, fanqie: 私 + 誚, [qiào]). The Fangyan states: 'A sword sheath (削) is called 鞞 in the region west of the Pass; that which encloses the blade of a knife.' 鞞 is pronounced with the fanqie 補 + 迷 [bǐ].)
