掬取（上弓六反考聲覆手扟取也說文在手曰匊從勹勹音包從米會意字也正單作匊今經文從手作掬俗字也通用）。

Scooping up with hands (掬取: the first character is gōng + liù fanqie. The Kaosheng says: "Turning the hands over to scoop up." The Shuowen says: "What is in the hands is called 匊; it takes 勹—勹 is pronounced bāo—and 米, an ideographic character." The correct standard form is simply 匊; in the current sūtra text written with the radical 手 as 掬, which is a vulgar character, though interchangeable).
