善瑩（瑩逈反顧野王云瑩謂摩飾玉使光明也說文玉色也一云石之次玉者也從玉熒省聲案摩飾之瑩從金作鎣從玉者誤也）。

Finely polished (善瑩: [瑩 has the fanqie] 瑩逈 [y- + -ǒng → yǐng]. Gu Yewang says: “瑩 means to polish and adorn jade to make it luminous.” The Shuowen: “The color of jade; one source says: a stone inferior to jade. Formed from 玉 (jade) with an abbreviated 熒 as phonetic.” We note that 瑩 in the sense of polishing and adorning is formed from 金 (metal) as 鎣; taking it from 玉 (jade) is an error).
