Slender and long (纖長: the first character is xiāng + yán fanqie. The Guangya says: "纖 means minute." Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: "纖 means fine." The Wenzi dianshuo says: "It takes the radical 系 and has 韱 as phonetic." The character 籤 takes 䇝; 䇝 is pronounced jiān. The second character is zhí + liáng fanqie. The Shuowen says: "Enduring; it takes 兀, 化, and inverted 亾. 兀 means high and distant; when things endure they transform and change, hence it takes 化").
