饋遺（上達位反鄭注周禮饋進物也儀禮云廌熟食也說文從食貴聲下唯醉反毛詩傳云遺加也顧野王云贈也廣雅云遺與也說文從辵貴聲辵音丑略反）。

饋遺 (The first character has the fanqie 達 + 位. Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli says: '饋 means presenting goods.' The Yili says: 'Presenting cooked food.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Formed from the classifier 食 ("food") and the phonetic 貴.' The second character has the fanqie 唯 + 醉. The Mao commentary on the Shijing says: '遺 means to bestow.' Gu Yewang says: 'To present as a gift.' The Guangya says: '遺 means to give.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Formed from the classifier 辵 and the phonetic 貴.' 辵 has the fanqie 丑 + 略).
