Clutching and pinching [摶撮] (the upper is *tu* + *luan* fan; the *Boya* says: "*Tuan* is grasping things with the hand to make them stick together." The *Shuowen* has it taking the 'hand' radical with *zhuan* 專 as phonetic. The lower is *zu* + *wei* fan; Ying Shao's commentary on the *Hanshu* says: "*Cuo* is pinching with three fingers, or pinching with two fingers." The *Gujin zhengzi* has it taking the 'hand' radical with *zui* 最 as phonetic).
