勞來（說文作勑同力代反爾雅勞來也郭璞曰相約勑亦為勞也揵為舍人曰勞力極也來強事也廣雅勑謹也勤也詩云神所勞矣箋云勞來猶佑助也漢書勞來不怠也經文作倈非也）。

Laolai (勞來; Shuowen jiezi writes it as 勑, identical; *li-dai* fanqie [lài]. Erya: “Lao (勞) means to encourage (lai).” Guo Pu says: “To mutually instruct and admonish is also called lao.” Jianwei Sheren says: “Lao (勞) means exertion to the utmost; lai (來) means forcing to action.” Guangya: “Chi (勑) means prudent; it also means diligent.” Classic of Poetry: “Those whom the spirits encourage (lao).” The Commentary says: “Laolai (勞來) is like aiding and supporting.” Hanshu: “Encouraging (laolai) without remiss.” In the sūtra text it is written as 倈, which is incorrect).
