Mengmeng (dim-sighted) (fanqie: 木 + 紅 [méng]; the Mao Commentary to the *Shijing* states: 'Having pupils in the eyes yet not seeing is called *meng*.' The *Shuowen* states: 'Mengmeng means not bright; it takes 目 as semantic classifier and 冡 as phonetic').
