嫡胄（丁犾反主嫡也字書嫡正也廣雅嫡君也公羊傳云立嫡以長者何謂嫡夫人之尊無與敵也胄連續也亦緒也）。

Legitimate heir (嫡胄: [嫡 is] fanqie 丁犾 [dí]; the principal heir; the Zishu says: “嫡 means proper/legitimate”; the Guangya says: “嫡 means lord”; the Gongyang zhuan says: “Why is the eldest legitimate son established? It refers to the supreme honor of the principal wife, with whom none can compete”; 胄 means continuation, also posterity).
