鉸刀（古卯反交刃刀也今亦謂之剪乃又謂剪馬為鉸刀釋名云鉸刀削刀皆隨時用作名也）。

Scissors (鉸刀: gǔ + mǎo fanqie; crossing-bladed shears; nowadays they are also called jiǎn (剪); furthermore, shearing a horse is called jiǎodāo (鉸刀); the Shiming states: "Both shears (鉸刀) and paring knives (削刀) take their names according to their seasonal use").
