禱祀（上刀老反鄭注周禮云求福曰禱包注論語云請鬼神也廣雅云謝也說文從示壽聲下詞枲反祀潔敬而祭也顧野王云百神之庿可祭曰祀也說文從示已聲）。

禱祀 (Prayers and sacrifices: The first [character] has the fanqie 刀老 [dǎo]. Zheng Xuan's commentary on the Rites of Zhou says: 'Seeking blessings is called 禱.' Bao Xian's commentary on the Analects says: 'To entreat ghosts and spirits.' The Guangya says: '謝 [to thank or propitiate].' The Shuowen says: 'It has the radical 示 and the phonetic 壽.' The second [character] has the fanqie 詞枲 [sì]; 祀 means to sacrifice with purity and reverence. Gu Yewang says: 'The shrines of the hundred deities that may be sacrificed to are called 祀.' The Shuowen says: 'It has the radical 示 and the phonetic 已.')
