煒熚（上韋鬼反毛詩傳云赤貌也考聲云亦光色盛貌也說文從火韋聲也下炎劫反方言熚熚熾盛貌廣雅云熚赤光也說文從火畢聲畢音同上經從畢作畢非也古文云爾時之音訓字也）。

煒熚 (The first character has the fanqie 韋 + 鬼. The commentary on the Classic of Poetry states that it means red in appearance. The Kaosheng states that it is also the appearance of splendid light and color. The Shuowen says it is formed from 火 [fire] with 韋 phonetic. The second character has the fanqie 炎 + 劫. The Fangyan states that 熚熚 is the appearance of blazing flourish. The Guangya states that 熚 means red light. The Shuowen says it is formed from 火 [fire] with 畢 phonetic; 畢 has the same sound as above. In the sūtra it is written with 畢 as 畢, which is incorrect. The ancient script states that it is a character glossed by contemporary sound).
