蝮蜟（扶福反下夷六反字林蝮蜟蟬皮也猶蛣蜣變為蟬也廣雅蝮蜟蛻也蛻音他外　始銳二反謂蛇蛻皮也經文作輹育非體也）。

蝮蜟 (Cicada slough; [蝮 is] f[u] + [fu] fan; the lower [character, 蜟,] is y[i] + [liu] fan. The Zilin says: "蝮蜟 is the skin of a cicada; like a dung beetle transforming into a cicada." The Guangya says: "蝮蜟 is a slough." 蛻 (slough) has two pronunciations: t[a] + [wai] and sh[i] + [rui] fan. It refers to a snake shedding its skin. The sūtra text writes 輹育, which is not the proper character).
