噉食（上達濫反廣雅云噉食也說文噉噍也從口敢聲或作啗亦通也經云幻化也）。
噉食: The upper character has the fanqie phonetic spelling 達濫. The Guangya says: '噉 means to eat.' The Shuowen jiezi says: '噉 means to chew; it follows 口 (mouth) with 敢 as phonetic.' It is also written 啗, which is likewise permissible. The sūtra says: illusory transformation.
