懺悔（此言訛略也書無懺字應言叉磨此云忍謂容恕我罪也半月叉磨增長戒根逋沙他此云增長戒名鉢羅帝提舍耶寐此云我對說謂相向說罪也舊名布薩者訛略也譯為淨住者義翻也）。

Repentance (懺悔): This is an abbreviated, corrupt form; the character 懺 did not exist in older writings. It should be kṣama (叉磨), which translates here as 'forbearance', meaning to pardon my transgressions. The semi-monthly kṣama increases the roots of morality. Poṣadha (逋沙他) translates here as 'increasing the precepts'. Pratideśayāmi (鉢羅帝提舍耶寐) translates here as 'I confess before [others]', meaning to declare one's sins face-to-face. The older name busa (布薩) is an abbreviated corruption; translating it as 'pure abode' (jingzhu) is a semantic translation.
