什物(時立反什謂會數之名也亦聚也雜也資生之物也今人言家產器物猶云什物物即器也江南名什物此土名五行史記舜作什器於壽丘漢書貧民賜田宅什物此即是也)。
Sundry utensils (什物): Shi and li fan. Shi refers to a counted collection; it also means an assembly, miscellaneous goods, or items for daily livelihood. Nowadays people refer to household properties and utensils as shiwu; wu means vessels. South of the Yangtze they are called shiwu; in this land they are called wuxing. The Records of the Grand Historian states: 'Shun made sundry utensils (shiqi) at Shouqiu'; the Book of Han states: 'Poor people were bestowed fields, residences, and sundry utensils'—this is precisely it.
