獼猴江（梵言未迦吒此云猴賀邏䭾此云池在舍離菴羅園側昔彌猴共集為佛穿池今言江者譯人義立耳如言恒河亦作恒江也）。

Monkey River (獼猴江; the Sanskrit word markaṭa [未迦吒] means "monkey"; hrada [賀邏䭾] means "pool"; it is beside the Āmrapālī grove in Vaiśālī; formerly, monkeys assembled together to dig a pool for the Buddha; the present use of "river" is an interpretive phrasing by the translator, just as the Gaṅgā River is also rendered as "Gaṅgā River" [恒江]).
