纖長（上相閻反前已釋下丈良反說文久遠也從兀兀高遠意也從上久則化變也從倒亡字已上竝說篆文長字會意字也）。

纖長 ("slender and long": the upper character has the fanqie 相閻 [xiān] and was explained earlier. The lower character has the fanqie 丈良 [cháng]. Shuowen says: "Far-reaching and enduring." It is composed of 兀—兀 conveys the sense of high and distant—and from 上; persisting long, it changes and transforms; and it is composed of an inverted 亡. The above all explain the seal script character 長, which is an associative compound.)
