比度（上卑履反集訓云比類也考聲云比竝也說文云相與比敘也從反从也二人為从古從字反从為比故云反从下唐落反考聲云度量也集訓云揆度也或作𢜬亦同說文法制也從又從[厂@(廿/火)]省聲也或作㡯[巾*(冗-几+乇)]三體皆古字也）。

比度 (compare and evaluate: the first character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 卑履. The Jixun says: 'Bǐ (比) means to categorize.' The Kaosheng says: 'Bǐ means to stand side-by-side.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'To align with one another; it derives from the reverse of 從. Two people make 從; the ancient character 從 reversed makes 比, hence it is called reversed 從.' The second character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 唐落. The Kaosheng says: 'Duó (度) means to measure.' The Jixun says: 'To reckon and evaluate.' It is also written as 𢜬, which is the same. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Statutory regulation; it derives from 又 with [厂@(廿/火)] abbreviated as phonetic.' It is also written as 㡯 or [巾*(冗-几+乇)]; all three forms are ancient characters.)
